Spring forth with books!

It’s showering spring books here. Here’s a few, sent in by friends.

This one is from Marsha Wilson Chall, with illustrations by debut illustrator Jed Henry. Check out Jed’s blog, too.

Many graphic designers enjoy exploring picture book vernacular, distilling the everyday into simplicity. Children see the world with fresh eyes, and so do many designers. Patricia Intriago demonstrates how DOT can be fun in her upcoming book.

And finally, a correction to an earlier post.  I had mistakenly posted the U.K cover for the delightful Kristy Dempsey/Bridget Strevens-Marzo book, Mini-Racer. Bridget writes:

“. . . I noticed you put the yellow UK cover online.  Attached is the full Bloomsbury US cover – they kept to my original grey-blue textural “road” cover which I like best. . . “

  2. ps: Mini Racer reminds me of Cars and Trucks and Things That Go (a huge favorite); and a fave in our house: Racer Dogs. Not in a “it’s-been-done sort of way”, but in a “there’s a reason we adored these” sort of way. More for the list of adoration!

  3. DOT rocks! I can’t wait to see it! It was but a ms not so long ago, and now, full color glory!
The other books make me wish my kids were still little, but I’ll probably buy them all (for me, or my nephews, or a library)–they look wonderful!

  4. Wow! What a nice mini-survey of books. They all look great! I can’t wait to check them out up close.

  5. What fun books, I can’t wait to check them out.
