Just received a delightful email from a long-time friend. Lisze Bechtold, creator of Buster-the-Very-Shy Dog, Sally-of-the-Purple Socks (my personal fave—I’m a socks fan myself), and Edna-of-the tail-tale, a menagerie of fabulous characters. Check out her book trailer for Buster & Phoebe (above).

The Got Story Countdown is where we share tips for children's book illustrators.
We focus on items relevant to the hearts and minds of children's story-telling artists and their partners —editors, authors, art director/designers, and their cheerleaders.
We invite published illustrators and their partners (editor, art director/designer, author, or other associates) to answer questions about their process.
You are welcome to join in, as long as you stay on topic. Got Story?

I have a friend who wrote an adult book about Asperger’s Syndrome. I’ll e-mail you off-line with info.
It was great seeing you too, Joan! An interesting thing happened during Susan Raab’s promotion intensive–someone suggested that Sally and the Purple Socks might be a good book for Autistic children because Sally is constantly dealing with unexpected events. Now I will have to find some test subjects.
Love the trailer, Lisze! It was great to see you at the SCBWI Conference. Thanks for posting this, Joy.
Hi Joan! 🙂
I have to get the book, “Sally and the Purple Socks”! Great book trailer too.
You won’t regret grabbing it, Sally. It’s a droll story! I’ve always admired Lisze’s linework too.
